About Mesut Dural

He was born in Eskişehir in 1988. He began his architectural education in İzmir Institute of Technology. He was actively involved in such organizations as technical trips, seminars, workshops and competitions. He completed one semester of his bachelor education in Germany. He graduated from IZTECH in 2011 and started to work in an architecture office. He participated in several projects with emphasis on concept design and production of construction documents. In the years between 2013 and 2017, he completed his master’s degree in Yıldız Technical University whit the thesis titled “The Differentiation Of Perceptual Effect Of The Dome In Contemporary Mosque Architecture According To Architectural Education Level”. He worked as a Research Assistant at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University between 2014 and 2022. During this period, he published several papers on national and international symposiums about spatial quality in public spaces, environmental psychology, contemporary mosque architecture problematics and visuospatial abilities in architecture education. He assisted technical drawing and project courses at the university and carried out various commission duties. During this period, he continues his duties as Erasmus Coordinator and Supervisor of Architecture Association. He took part in the foundation step of the bab Journal of FSMVU Faculty of Architecture and Design, which was established on behalf of the Faculty in July 2019 and worked as the managing editor, graphics and typesetting director and publishing coordinator. Currently he is working as an assistant editor in the same journal. He completed his PhD education in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Building Design, Theory and Methodology Program which he started in January 2018, with his thesis titled "Spatial Ability Problematic in Architectural Education" in February 2022. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University in April 2022. He served as Vice Dean between July 2022 and May 2023, and as Vice Head of Department between May 2023 and November 2024. He currently continues his education and academic work as an assistant professor.
