About Michael Allen

I am currently a Doctoral Research Assistant within the UNO Vascular Research Lab and am interested in vascular physiology. I completed my masters thesis on the cardiovascular and autonomic alterations that occur during prolonged sitting in mild hypercapnia in middle-aged adults. While completing my masters degree I worked as a full time graduate research/teaching assistant, aiding in both class and lab lectures. Additionally, I have been working as a regional manager for GNC while going to school full time. This has allowed me to prove to myself that I am able to juggle multiple tasks at once and strategically plan for success. My time in a research lab consists of collecting and analyzing data, independent us of laboratory equipment/techniques, dynamic interactions with outside associations as well as my lab members, contributions to manuscript writing/reviewing and both oral and written presentations. While my GNC experience has found me working in all levels of the store, from a sales associate, single store manager, to multi unit manager. I have handled tasks that are vital to the success of our stores such as customer service, product knowledge, employee training, marketing, company relations, any grievances, product ordering, merchandising and much more.
