About Michael Brady

As a Business Supports Officer in Fáilte Ireland, my role is to work with tourism businesses, external support agencies and colleagues across the country to design, develop and deliver Business Support programmes with a view to enhancing the online and offline sales expertise of tourism businesses. It is the SME tourism businesses across Ireland that are helping to grow the economy back out of the recession. These businesses need to be at their competitive best in order that they can survive but also develop and grow their business. In terms of the digital economy it is evolving at such a rapid pace, it is therefore essential that the tourism industry's digital presence keeps apace with these developments. Having an excellent digital presence drives more traffic, increases social engagement and ultimately increases revenue for the business is essential. In order that tourism businesses are able to achieve these goals they must have the skill set to be at their competitive best. Additionally businesses need to also be at the top of their game when it comes to selling their 'tourism experience' to their customer - whether that be a B2B or a B2C customer. Key messages need to developed and delivered, using the most effective channels, to targeted segments in their respective targeted markets. This is another key training function that we bring to the Irish tourism sector. The clients that we work with range from the 5* Hotels to the local B&B, tourist attractions, restaurants and other tourism services within Ireland. As no two companies are the same and their skill sets also vary, we design and deliver a menu of programmes that are delivered in a flexible format to suit the client. The ultimate aim of our programmes is to provide Irish tourism businesses with a suite of digital marketing programmes and other training supports, which can be tailored to suit individual needs, in order that they have a competitive advantage in the market place.
