About Michael Buckley

My practice involves commercial and real estate lending and development, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lending, including CMBS, construction and ground lease loans. I've represented developers and lenders in master-planned and common interest communities and mixed use projects, and have experience in dealing with municipal development agreements. I have also represented clients in dealing with municipal authorities on land use matters. My background: I served as overall book editor and an author of the recently published Nevada Real Property Practice and Procedure Manual (2021, State Bar of Nevada) With eleven chapters and just under pages the Manual is a first ever compendium of Nevada real property law and practice, with forms. The book is the culmination of a three year effort by numerous Nevada lawyers. I'm a founder and member of the State Bar of Nevada Real Property Section (2008 - present; Member and chair, Executive Committee). Since 1987, through the State Bar of Nevada, the Community Associations Institute and the Nevada Commission on Common Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels I have worked on Nevada real estate legislation, including mortgage lending, guaranties, and common interest communities, during virtually every legislative session. Member: American College of Real Estate Lawyers (1988), American College of Mortgage Attorneys (2010) and American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (2021). Commissioner and Chair, Nevada Commission on Common Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels (2003 - 2012); Planning Commissioner, City of Las Vegas Planning Commission (1994-2002, 2009; chair Community Associations Institute Legislative Action Committee (1993 - 2003).
