About Michael Chin

Hello! I'm a Software Engineer with 5 years of experience, and 3+ years in video games. In my next role, I would love to do more work in gameplay systems, server, engine, or online programming and continue to grow my skills in gameplay or general software engineering. Most recently, I worked as a Software Engineer for an unannounced title at Riot Games in R&D. I primarily managed Jenkins and Horde build pipelines, but I also had the chance to work on other aspects of the project. I helped to refactor a gameplay system, added metrics and analytics on New Relic for client services and server health, added developer tools to expose gameplay values, set up and documented iOS builds in collaboration with central teams, and helped set up a blueprint-based automated testing framework for regression and smoke testing. Previously, I worked in Unity to maintain and iterate on Jenkins build pipelines on Android and iOS, developed new features in game, and shipped multiple titles to the iOS App Store. I also have experience working with Java SDKs and web apps (React, Google Polymer). Outside of my professional experience, I have been working on the Tom Looman Unreal Engine course as well as working some one-off side projects to explore developing game features, systems, networked games, and multithreading.
