About Michael Gagne

I have been the Principal Organist and Sunday School Music Teacher at Saint Matthew's since March of 2014 and as of July 2024 been appointed the Full-Time Director of Classic Music and Organist. While at Saint Matthew's I taught music in their Day School to grades pre-school through 8th grade. In 2019 I had the honor of selecting the Rodgers Infinity 361 organ to succeed the previously aging instrument with a special New Organ Search Committee. Prior to Saint Matthew's, I was Minister of Music at Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights from 2011-2014, Director of Music at Grace Lutheran Church in Villa Park from 2009-2011, and Organist at the historic Grace United Methodist Church in Lake Bluff from 2004-2009. I graduated from Deerfield High School in 2002 and completed a B.A. Degree in Music from North Park University in Chicago and was instrumental in creating their annual "Hymn Festival series" that has become very popular since 2009! I have also worked as a collaborative accompanist for Carpentersville Middle School from 2014-2017. When not playing services, I have been playing concerts and master classes in some of the famous churches and cathedrals in the U.S. Most notably Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago on the largest pipe organ in the midwest!
