About Michael Goonan

Michael Goonan, Assistant Dean of Career & Technical Education at Rowan College of South Jersey, has worked in higher education, particularly workforce development, for nearly 15 years. His 15 years of experience are comprised within working in: •Career Services- Supporting students in job readiness (resume development, mock interviews, job searching, etc.) and job placement, •Curriculum/Program Development- Developing new and revise current career training programs that meet industry needs and are in demand, •Registered Apprenticeship Development- Working with the US DOL Office of Apprenticeship to create and implement Registered Apprenticeship to support employer partners with developing a talent pipeline. •Student Recruitment and Retention- Actively involved in community relations events to recruit new students and advocating for current students in order to break down barriers to their success •Customized Training/Employer Engagement- Engaging with local and regional employers to identify gaps in their employees training and to develop training opportunities to bridge the gap. Michael has a master’s degree from Drexel University in High Education Administration with a bachelor’s degree from Rowan University in Public Relations.
