About Michael Hargreaves

I am a passionate and dedicated educator currently working as a PE Teacher, Humanities Lead, and Forest School Leader within a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting. My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that every young person feels safe, understood, and supported in their learning journey.I have experience working in an ASC-accredited environment, where I adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of individual needs. I am particularly committed to using physical education, outdoor learning, and humanities to build resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation in students who may have faced significant challenges. As a Forest School Leader, I strongly believe in the power of nature-based learning to promote wellbeing, independence, and curiosity. I aim to create inclusive, engaging, and therapeutic learning experiences that help students reconnect with education and achieve meaningful personal progress.I am always looking to collaborate, share best practice, and continue developing my skills to better support young people in SEMH settings.
