Qualified in 1981 as a Civil Engineer. Worked as a Site Engineer /Section Engineer with Ascon on the construction of two ESB Power Stations and as a Resident Engineer on the construction of Sewerage Scheme and Housing Scheme. Joined Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) in 1987 and worked on international and national (USA) projects in the refining, petrochemical, offshore, pipelines, shutdowns and civil areas as a Construction Superintendent, Project Controls Specialist,Technical Services Manager and Senior Planning Manager. Experienced in EPC projects from conception in home office through construction and commissioning in the field. Managed multidisciplined teams on direct hire and subcontracted projects in Los Angeles, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Holland, Alaska, and Houston, Texas. Returned to Ireland in and worked as the Senior Resident Employers Representative on a pe DBO WWTP as part of the Cork Main Drainage Programme. Managed the procurement of the various Contract Pkgs for the Waterford Main Drainage in addition to managing the Water / Wastewater Department of Waterford City Council. Worked as a Project Manager on the design development and construction of a new Water / Instrumentation Laboratory, 5m Ton Non-Hazardous Landfill, Roads Upgrade programs and Slope Stabilisation Programme for Cobh Town Council, Project Manger for development and delivery of Fortress Spike Island (Phase 1). NEC Supervisor for the Remediation of the Haulbowline Island (East Tip) Project, which was voted as Project of the Year - 2019 (Engineers Ireland).
