About Michael Lund

I currently work as a Middle East correspondent at the Danish national radio and tv My main area of expertise is the Middle East, but I've reported from a broad range of countries - from Afghanistan and Bangladesh to Zambia and South Africa. Next to my work, I've studied Middle East Studies at a university in Denmark - and Arabic in different institutes in Yemen, Morocco and Egypt. Since 2011 I've covered the uprisings in the Middle East from the ground. I reported from Tahrir Square when Hosni Mubarak - and two years later Muhammed Mursi - fell. I've reported from Eastern and central Libya drung the uprising there, from demonstrations in Bahrain and Jordan to refugee camps in Lebanon and Turkey - and I've been on the ground in Syria seven times since the uprising began. Lately, I've have also reported on the advances of Islamic State in Iraq where I've reported from Bagdad, Tikrit, Kirkuk and the Kurdish region in Iraq.
