In 2021 I founded The Yatamana Group (TYG) LLC to focus on Executive Leadership and Team Performance to help leaders stay ahead in this VUCA world. Organizations are made of people who make decisions everyday that either move that organization towards better performance and competitive advantage or away from it. We will work with your leaders to remember their innate capability to lead with passion, make bold decisions, and develop the mindset to achieve the impossible.My father’s untimely death from cancer thrust me into a world of change and uncertainty at a very young age. This is how I found my sense of purpose in the world. I didn’t know what it was, but I always felt that service to others was involved in some way. That sense of purpose guided this young Northern Californian to go to the U.S. Naval Academy and spend a career in the Navy which started by flying in jets off of aircraft carriers to becoming a diplomat and living in Africa for five years. On this journey I learned to be creative while keeping focused on the mission, continuously grow through self-reflection, emotional awareness and emotional intelligence, and achieve remarkable outcomes through high performing teams and thinking big. The most important link to all of these amazing experiences has been effective communication, presence, listening, reflection, and a willingness to take risks. In 2017, while reflecting during recovery from a cycling accident, my sense of purpose guided me to a new way to serve, lead, and mentor others: executive coaching. In this manner I can best help others continue their growth process and consciously design a life that is authentic to their needs and desires on our path to raising global consciousness. Today, I experience joy by spending time with my family, being in nature, trying new things, and partnering with clients as they explore their own journey in leadership and life purpose. Yatamana, the first step in practicing non-attachment, is the process of self-reflection and self study. It entails paying attention to your thought, speech, and action; discovering your place and role in the world; and then contemplating on living a meaningful life.[1]
