About Michael Spleet

I am Chief Executive Officer and employee benefits practice leader at Franklin Benefits with 20 years of experience, Michael has been leading the growth of our employee benefits practice since 2007. His areas of concentration include employee benefits, with a focus on fully/self insured health programs, in addition Michael is licensed financial advisor, having designed over 100 group retirement programs. His experience includes data analysis, cost management techniques, self-funding arrangements and designing health and pharmaceutical benefits. Michael's accomplishments include: Developed systems to help identify health cost increase drivers and meaningful strategies to address them. Design actuarial evaluation systems to compare various funding and plan designs. Developed strategic approaches to managing health care costs, including self funding. Pharmacy advisor, designed pharmaceutical drug programs for clients, leading to cost savings and improved employee health. Implemented disability and life insurance benefits for nonprofit executives and employees. Mike graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a degree in the bachelor of arts. He holds the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter, Charter Financial Consultant and Registered Health Underwriter. He served as past president of Flint Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Treasurer of St. Matthew Catholic Church Council and GFAC board of directors for years. Currently Michael is serving on the Clio Country Club Board of Directors. Michael has been married to his wife Kris since 1996, they have one son Michael He is an avid U of M Football fan, enjoys distance running and gardening.
