About Michael Stribling

My name is Michael Stribling and I was born in 1991 in Boston Massachusetts. I played travel soccer for 8 consecutive years until the age of 14 at which time I had to stop because of an ongoing medical condition. I became a boy scout in 2002 during which time I took part in activities such as traveling to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico where I hiked in the Rocky Mountains for 14 days. When I began high school in 2005, I became very involved in music and music theory, especially in playing multiple types of guitars. I originally taught myself to play these instruments and then eventually took music classes as electives in school. In February of 2007, I won an award at the LCPS Science Fair for my project,"The Relationship Between Building Structures and Earthquakes." In December of 2008, I achieved the highest rank in boy scouts called eagle scout. Being artistic and creative, I decided to pursue my love of art further after graduating high school and am working hard to make it my future career. I joined Northern Virginia Community College in 2010 after taking time off of school to gain valuable work experience and to save money. I have declared my major as Communication Arts and have attended multiple art and design classes. In these classes, I have furthered my knowledge of artistic techniques and design fundamentals, especially in the Adobe Creative Suite software. Soon, I will graduate NOVA with a transferable degree and plan to attend George Mason University. Also, I will soon be a certified expert in Photoshop of the Adobe package through Pearson VUE testing. My goal for the next year is to become an intern at a local company as a designer in order to achieve professional experience in this field as well as broaden my networking connections. I am working diligently to become a full time designer within the next 5 years.
