About Michael Tuckerman

Hello, I am Michael Tuckerman and I'm a graduate student at Clemson University and Business Process Consultant for Pontoon Solutions. I earned a B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering at Clemson, where I am currently earning an M.S. Degree in the same field and participating in research for the Savannah River Site. At Pontoon Solutions, our mission is to provide clients with optimal hiring processes to find ideal candidates, using both RXO and MSP programs. I am part of the Strategy & Transformation team, where I support our client programs to identify opportunities for improvement and implement process changes. Undergraduate Involvement- Clemson Engineers for Developing Countries. Developed a cheap and effective water filter device for use in Haiti - General Engineering Department Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. My role was to provide support for the professor during lectures and help new students understand and master the introductory engineering courses during their first year - Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. Member since 2020 - Cooperative Education Program. Opportunity to apply my studies to real-world industry while earning my degree Chi Phi Fraternity- 2019 Community Service Chairman. Organized service opportunities to reach chapter goals. Served as role models for Greenville Boys & Girls Club, participating in sports and activities - 2020 Recruitment Co-Chair. Fraternity experience was significantly impacted by COVID. Despite these setbacks, recruited the largest new member class at Clemson and in the national fraternity, setting a new chapter record of 30 members- 2021 Chapter President. As president, I had the opportunity and challenge to lead our chapter to new heights as well as provide integral improvements to our foundation. Under my leadership we grew our chapter size from 85 to 110 members, ranked top 5 in GPA at Clemson, and raised over in philanthropy efforts for RAINN and Prayers for Maria foundations. Work Experience- Cooperative Education program. First rotation in 2020 with BorgWarner Seneca delayed by tornado destroying the facilities and world-wide pandemic. In 2021, I completed two rotations as an Operational Excellence Co-Op and a Production, Logistics & Control Co-Op. These two experiences gave me a wide variety of knowledge and skills that have helped me see the bigger picture in both manufacturing and company-wide goals. I am extremely thankful to the BorgWarner team for this amazing opportunity.
