Background

About Michael Washington

I leverage expertise in strategy development, operational excellence and leadership to assess needs, develop and implement critical business strategies in collaboration with stakeholders. I am passionate about approaching business with an entrepreneurial mindset. My experiences as a senior leader in entrepreneurial ventures, a global supply chain leader, an internal consultant for operational excellence and a plant manager in the petrochemicals and FMCG industries, provide a unique blend of perspectives and skills that deliver effective and efficient results. My teams have consistently improved safety incident rates, achieved hundreds of millions of dollars in cost improvements, marked improvement in throughput performance using engineering-based Total Quality Management, Lean and 6-Sigma principles and tools. As an entrepreneur, I created an innovative niche business supporting the supply chain management requirements for major food, consumer products and telecommunications companies, achieving national recognition for innovative sales and marketing strategies. I am committed to giving back to the community to build a legacy of knowledge and skills for future generations. I help community outreach organizations and higher education institutions leverage capabilities to increase their reach and impact. I welcome the opportunity to present at conferences on operational excellence and to share "tried and tested" leadership lessons.Expertise: Leadership|Strategic Planning|Revenue/Growth Achievement|Operational Excellence|Six Sigma Methodology|Lean|Hoshin Strategy|TQM| Supply Chain Management|Productivity and Performance Improvement||Leadership Development
