Background
About Michael Westerheim
With over 20 years experience in the Data Center industry, I have seen everything one can imagine, from challenges that seem unsolvable to scalability strategies and saving money. My journey began with a sabbatical to build a computer lab for a high school in Guyana while working in environmental affairs, serendipitously led me into the data center industry. Leveraging my engineering skills and applying them to the Data Center Environment has afforded many opportunities to learn and grow while working for the same company. My natural penchant for people led to multiple management positions culminating in the top data center job at Unisys. I have led the Global Data Center team for 10 years and enjoyed working with associates in Europe, India, South America, New Zealand and Australia. The highlight of my career has been working with people of multiple cultures. My next endeavor is in data center consulting helping clients optimize their data centers.Specialties: Data Center Design, Colocation, Migration and Consolidation, Data Center Infrastructure Design
