About Michele Ackerman

I have an eclectic mix of skills developed from decades of different passions. All are connected by a creative spirit, a desire to educate, instruct and lead, and an inquisitive mind that strives to do things better and become better. I grew up on a dairy farm in southern Michigan and earned a degree in agriculture communications from Michigan State. I have worked in the dairy industry for more than 30 years as a journalist, web designer, graphic designer and communications specialist. I have also lifted weights for more than 30 years and been a competitive bodybuilder for the past 15 years. It was a natural progression for me to establish Fit by Michele LLC after years of motivating others and answering questions on exercise and nutrition. I am a personal trainer and nutrition coach, certified through the National Association of Sports Medicine. I am also a beekeeper and maintain a garden of 150-plus varieties of trees, shrubs and perennials. Because I have been involved with the agriculture industry my entire life, I am also passionate about this planet on which we live - its beauty, resources, and inhabitants. I reduce, reuse and recycle at every opportunity and bring this mindset to everything I do. An inquisitive, lifelong learner, I jump at the chance to delve deeper. I leave no stone unturned as I develop plans and materials to help my clients accomplish their goals and realize their dreams.
