About Mike Gross

When I was just a child, I wanted to be in Law Enforcement. I was a Newport KY Police Explorer for four years and was post Captain. It is a program administered through the Dan Beard Counsel(Boy Scouts), but funded by each Law Enforcement Agency. The passion to serve the public was something I was born with. I have wanted to be a Police Officer my entire life. In July my dream of being in Law Enforcement came true when I was hired on the Boone County Police Department. We merged with the Sheriff's office in 2001. I have not worked a day since. I feel that I am truly blessed to have a job that I love so much that it does not seem like work at all. I worked for the Boone County Sheriff's Department for 13 great years and then was offered an opportunity I could not turn down. In January of 2013 I accepted a Sergeant Position with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office. In January 2015 a new Sheriff took Office. I was then hired with the Fort Mitchell Police Department. Worked my way from Specialist to Detective and retiring as a Sergeant. Had a great 20 plus years of law enforcement.
