As a Senior Network Security Engineer with over 16 years of experience under my belt, I’ve had the privilege of working with great people at a couple great companies. It all began in college at the University of North Texas, where I originally pursued a career in broadcasting. While I had a blast making people laugh and calling Mean Green sports games, I worked part-time in IT-support and eventually gravitated towards the information technology field towards the end of my degree. It was there that I realized how much I loved solving complex problems—especially those related to keeping networks secure. Every day presents a new challenge, and I thrive on finding innovative solutions to safeguard our digital landscapes. At OneSource Virtual, I've spent the last 11 years honing my skills in network security. I’ve implemented robust security measures that have reduced vulnerabilities and ensured our clients' data remains protected against ever-evolving threats. My certifications—CISSP andCCNP Security—have equipped me with a solid foundation to tackle these challenges head-on. Being part of a team that prioritizes security has been incredibly rewarding, especially when we see tangible results from our efforts. Before this role, I spent six years as a Network Engineer at Capital Partners where I learned the ins and outs of network infrastructure. This experience was invaluable as it laid the groundwork for my current focus on security protocols and risk management strategies. Building strong networks is not just about technology; it’s about understanding how people interact with it too. I take pride in leading teams with innovative ways to correct gaps in not only projects and company initiatives, but career development and mentorship in anyway I can. Knowledge sharing and creating a "outside the box" mindset approach has helped our team tackle challenges more effectively and created a healthy collaborative environment together. Outside of work, I enjoy playing shows with my band Sconald, calling in with funny musical bits on The Ticket Radio Station under an alias of E-Brake Man, golf and hanging with the family.
