About Mike Preece

Straight after leaving school I gained a motor vehicle apprenticeship and I have since worked in various roles within the MV industry. My MV career has included mechanical / technical, fleet management, retail and even a spell of lorry driving but most recently over 15 years in the FE sector. The majority of my career was spent at Bulmers Cider in Hereford whom I joined straight from school as an apprentice mechanic. When I was made redundant 26 years later, I was the company car fleet manager. Unable to find a similar fleet position locally I worked in vehicle hire before putting my NVQ to good use & I spent 5 years at Hereford College on their MV apprenticeship program. I currently work for Nova Training covering Herefordshire. We offer The Study Program and Apprenticeships in Motor Vehicle, Business Admin, Customer service, Retail and Warehousing and more at other centres. Functional skills are also delivered as part of the programs and GCSE is also available. I am the IQA for the MV study program & I cover all our centres with MV workshops. For the apprenticeship program I am a WBL coach for MV apprenticeships in LV & HV Level 3 If you are interested in a career in MV or any of the above mentioned programs then ring Nova (bushbury) for an informal chat. I have got some good relationships with local garages and are looking to place learners on the apprenticeship program. I miss the fleet industry though
