Passionate and gifted self-taught engineer with 35 years of experience designing, maintaining and operating complex mechanical and electronic systems of all types. Highly developed skills in design, procurement, fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of: • Industrial pumping systems including turbine, centrifugal, magnetically driven centrifugal, vertical seal-less centrifugal, regenerative, positive displacement piston, screw, diaphragm, gear, sliding and flexible vane, Roots, and peristaltic pumps. • Electrical power distribution and control system. • HVAC systems, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Conveyor systems, Manufacturing Automation, Power Transmission systems, and Motion Control systems. • Single and Double Contained Plumbing systems including all schedules of PVC (ASME certified up to 6”), Polypropylene, PVDF, TFE, ABS, wrot copper, black iron, butt and socket welded stainless steel, and glass fiber reinforced plastic. • PLC (500 I/O points, including both binary and analog input and output) systems. • Support and control systems used to monitor, maintain, and adjust parameters including temperature, humidity, pH, ORP, specific gravity, colorimetry, pressure, flow, volume, mass, time, length, speed, and RPM using Relay logic, PLC, Analog, Digital,(some) Modbus,(some) Canbus protocols. • Thermoplastic fabrication techniques including hot gas welding, and thermoforming of PVC, PVDF, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, polycarbonate, and ABS. • Fabrication, welding and brazing of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and titanium. TIG, MIG, SMAW, and OxyFuel processes. • Composite construction techniques using S-glass, E-glass, Carbon and Aramid fibers reinforcing polyester, vinylester, and epoxy matrices using hand laid, vacuum bagging, and resin transfer molding methods. Extensive experience in pre-preg fiberglass lamination techniques used in Printed Circuit Board manufacturing. Machine shop operations including milling, turning, drilling, heat treating, tempering, and grinding. Rigging and movement of all machines and equipment. Computer skills including Auto Cad, DraftSight, MS Office applications, CMMS programs, Inventory, and Industrial automation systems. Development and oversight of annual Operating and Capital budgets. Mentoring of entry and mid-level Process Engineers, and all levels of Repair and Maintenance Technicians. Reverse engineering of “OEM Specific” system components and identification, procurement, and integration of off the shelf equivalents.
