About Minku Lee

Hello! I’m Minku Lee, CTO at Shakr. I have built the Shakr’s backend and rendering system in Ruby from the ground up, and my current day-to-day responsibilities are managing product/technology but also contributes to backend and DevOps projects. I start my thought process from end-user experience first, which influences a lot of my technology and architecture decisions. Product: Worked on many product ideas from zero to one, advanced ideas by facilitating discussions from engineers to make it executable, and created lo-fi and hi-fi mockups for new products and product features. DevOps: Running and optimizing infrastructure on Kubernetes for 7+ years in production. Used multiple tools for monitoring and established CI/CD process for multiple projects, and shared my experiences as a case study on multiple events hosted by Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or local community. Backend: 8+ years of professional experience with Ruby as well as a bit of production experience with Elixir, including building from scratch, creating distributed system with specialized workloads (such as media processing pipeline), to refactoring major business logics. Collaboration: Work experience with globally distributed internal team as well as external partner corporations, in English and Korean. Led product engineering team, shaped product roadmap, and managed frontend and backend team leads. Team: Wears multiple hats(Backend, DevOps, Product, CTO) depending on the organization needs. Worked with engineering team sizes from 2 to 11. Created recruiting pipelines for multiple job positions, and scaled engineering team.
