Background

About Miranda Noren

I am a Geosciences major with the Environmental Geosciences Concentration and a minor in Data Science at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. I am passionate in water quality, water chemistry, and sustainability. Through coursework, I gained Excel certification both on the Associate and Expert levels and proficiency in Python, Java, R, LaTex, Tableau, Microsoft Access, Linux, and Database Management (SQL and MongoDB). Extracurricularly, I have been a member of Trinity's environmental club, EcoAllies, since August 2021. During my active membership in EcoAllies, I founded EcoRights (a subcommittee that focuses on educating the community about human and non-human animal rights) during the Spring semester of my Freshman year at Trinity. During my sophomore and junior years at Trinity, I served as the chairwoman of EcoRights. After my time as EcoRights Representative, I was elected as EcoAllies President in March 2024. During my EcoAllies presidency (May 2024-May 2025), I gained skills such as team leadership and goal setting for an organization. I also increased active membership, gave general members a voice in meetings, delegated tasks to fellow officers (including electing people for Secretary and Outreach Chair in September 2024), scheduled monthly officer meetings, met with the organization's faculty advisor twice a semester, and created the new Political Activism Chair position in the student organization. I am primarily looking for jobs with government and non-profit organizations that enable me to merge Environmental Geosciences with data analysis.
