About Mirsada Causevic

I am very interested in and have an advanced knowledge of the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease (AD), including biomarker discovery and validation process. I have spent many years as a postdoctoral fellow and have acquired expertise in cell/cellular and molecular biology methods for the analysis of the processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP), including amyloid-beta (A-beta) generation, which are some of the key molecules involved in AD pathogenesis. I have served as an expert reviewer for the European Commission-funded projects focused on AD. I have advanced scientific writing skills, including research article writing and editing, as well as data analysis, writing of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cell/cellular and molecular biology protocols, and writing of requests for ethical approval of research projects involving human subjects and their biological samples. I have written project proposals which were selected for funding, including a personal Marie Curie Fellowship and a project which was funded by the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB).
