Carry through various research projects to design and developed verities of polymers with styrene/styrene-free technology like unsaturated polyester (ortho-DCPD-ISO), Epoxy-Vinyl ester, Urethane acrylates, Alkyd/Silicon resin for various areas of applications/process e.g. Filament winding, SMC/DMC, Chemical anchor, Laminates, Resin transfer moulding, Car body/Wood fillers, Electrical insulation and Alkyd based surface coating applications. Manage product development, scale-up, set targets and monitor progress. Liaise with the QC and production, to provide technical support to QC and production team. Investigate customer complaints as required. Maintain technical literature including TDS- MSDS and COSHH-related documents. Provide adequate technical support to sales managers, and customers in the UK and Europe/Global on various innovative projects. Involving in production trials, and preliminary trials with customers for new product evaluation. Hands-on experience to design/synthesising different polymers via different polymerisation techniques. Characterisation and optimisation of polymer properties-formulations for the appropriate application. Strong organising, and project planning skill to meet stringent deadlines. As a Research Associate in the polymer centre worked on water-soluble hyperbranched polymers and dendrimers for biomedical applications e.g. artificial blood (haemoglobin mimic), protein binding, enzyme model and drug delivery vehicles. To organise laboratory group meetings. Managing the research projects and providing necessary training/guidelines to the younger members of the group. As a part of this research, an artificial blood sample was selected in the London science museum in 2007 on the occasion “The Celebration of 100 years of plastics discovery”. The article was published in The Guardian newspaper and Sheffield University newsletter. During Doctorate tenure, gained expertise in synthesising novel polyurethanes from renewable resources polyols, polyester and epoxy-polyether polyols with the combination of different isocyanate adducts especially designed for surface coating, and adhesive application. Studied thermosetting PU membranes via sorption and diffusion behaviour in different solvents to understand the structure-property relationship of polyurethane networks.
