Background

About Mohammad Alzyout

I am currently a PhD candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Oakland University, where I also serve as a Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant. My current research focuses on capturing real environments using LiDAR and camera sensors to create 3D models (3D reconstruction) through Reality Capture software. These models are then used to generate digital twins based on the Unreal Engine, which are simulated in virtual reality environments. My master's dissertation centered on vehicle GPS location prediction to facilitate the application of V2X Communication in Intelligent Transportation Systems, aimed at enhancing safety for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. I utilized Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models, implemented from scratch using MATLAB, for time series forecasting. The findings of my research were published in the Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory Journal, covering factors affecting the accuracy of vehicle positioning prediction. During my tenure as a full-time lecturer at Tafila Technical University, I taught various online and on-campus courses, including programming for engineers, object-oriented programming, and data structures and algorithms using Python and C++ programming languages. My experience in academia has provided me with valuable insights into teaching methodologies and curriculum development, which I bring to my current role as a Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant at Oakland University.
