About Mohammad Fouda

I am an epidemiologist and veterinarian with a passion for research. My primary interest lies in infectious diseases, particularly emerging zoonotic infections in wildlife. I am driven by the goal of preventing spillover events and safeguarding biodiversity through comprehensive understanding of disease ecology and using a One Health approach. With extensive knowledge of animal diseases, behavior, and systems, I investigate the transmission dynamics and patterns of infectious diseases and their impact on public health. I developed expertise in phylogenetic analysis, using molecular data to unravel evolutionary relationships and assess biodiversity patterns. I am proficient in statistical analysis using traditional and advanced regression methods as well as machine learning techniques. These skills enable me to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and informed policy recommendations. I have honed my ability to synthesize scientific literature, craft manuscripts, and write grant proposals. I am well-versed in a range of analytical tools, including R, SAS, QGIS, GeoDa, SaTScan, and Geneious Prime. These tools empower me to handle large datasets, perform spatial analysis, and conduct genetic analysis, enhancing the depth and quality of my research projects.
