About Mohammad Momeni

With over 8 years of work experience in the energy sector, I am a passionate and driven power engineer and researcher in Electrical Engineering in University of New Brunswick. My core competencies include power grids, Wind and Solar power plant, renewable energy, and power electronics, as well as power market analysis, pricing, and retailing. I am motivated by the vision of developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the next generation of micro grids and renewable energy systems, and I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, having worked in different roles and organizations in the industry. As a Research Assistant at UNB, I lead a research group with a special focus on power grids, power electronics, grid stability, and the development of grid forming inverters in the next generation micro grids. Prior to joining UNB, I worked as a Electricity Retailing Senior Expert at Ghadir Energy Investment co. and also Tamin Energy Development Co (TEDCO), where I was responsible for budget, income and cost analysis of solar, gas and steam power plants, power retailing strategies development, bilateral contract negotiations and pricing, and power trade in Iran Energy Exchange. I have also worked at TEDCO, and Pars Eltek Energy where I managed the wind and PV power plant EPC contracts, Installation of Commercial, off-grid and utility scale PV plants. I have multiple publications and patents in the field of power engineering, and I have obtained certifications in PLC and project management. I have also completed a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management from University of Tehran, and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tafresh University (Amirkabir University of Technology Tafresh campus). I am proficient in English and Persian, and skilled in design and installations of renewable energy systems.
