About Mohsin Abbas

Dr. Abbas is a seasoned researcher in the field of Occupational Health, Safety & Environment with a doctoral specialization in the field of Occupational Hygiene. He is a Member of the OHS Degree Programs Advisory Committee (PAC), at the University of Fredericton, Canada. Abbas has worked on different domains like; Environmental/Occupational epidemiology, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental/Occupational Health, Safety culture/climate, Safety Leadership, ergonomic exposure assessments, Social and psychosocial determinants of health, Occupational stress, and Organizational performance. He has done pioneer work in the field of occupational injuries among insured workers/migrant workers and published three national studies for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He is the leading Occupational Health Safety research group in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Sciences, University of Gujrat, Gujrat, Pakistan and has supervised multiple projects in the area of Occupational Health and Safety. He published a total of 17 research articles with an accumulative 71.6 impact factor, 26 International peer-reviewed conference papers, 4 prestigious book chapters. He supervised 15 MS and 11 BS students in the field of Occupational health, safety and environmental sciences (OHSES). Dr. Abbas delivered more than 15 training sessions both to industries, universities, and, chambers of commerce and has proven experience in terms of teaching Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Health courses at the university level. He has been serving as an editorial board member of a reputed USA-based journal, the Journal of Safety Studies. He also experienced policy-level research in Small, Medium, and Large size industry classifications in Pakistan. He has supervised many research studies and was invited as an external examiner in the field of Occupational health, safety & Environment. He has attended more than 30 international/national conferences as capacity session chair and delivered invited talks/training sessions. He believes in continual growth through active participation in various virtual webinars, training summits, workshops, etc. He is a member of different international community development organizations in the field of OHSES including board membership of governmental organizations as an environmental expert in Pakistan. of Dr. Abbas was also nominated for the ACOH 2014 Young Investigator’s Award (21st Asian Conference on Occupational Health), Japan.
