About Molly Dunn
My name is Molly Dunn and I am originally from Lexington, Kentucky. I obtained a BA in Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Kentucky. While working towards this degree, I began researching the global phenomenon of human trafficking at the Danish Institute of Study in Copenhagen, Denmark. I continued to pursue the study of domestic human trafficking in graduate school and attained an MS in Criminal Justice from Eastern Kentucky University. Finally, I obtained a PhD in Justice Studies from Arizona State University with a concentration in Gender and Women's Studies. My dissertation research is grounded in a historical approach examining the US anti-trafficking movement of the early 20th C. and entails an ethnography of the statewide anti-trafficking movement in Arizona, with a more narrow focus on human trafficking among Mormon fundamentalists in the Northern Arizona-Southern Utah region. In addition to human trafficking, my current research focuses on antisemitism, racism, and extremist movements and ideologies.
