About Monique Durham

As the Regional Director of Implementation Services at Great Minds, I lead a team of 49 change agents who support school district leaders, principals, and teachers across 12 states. Together, we ensure high-quality implementation of instructional materials and partner strategically with districts to drive student success at scale. I work closely with cross-functional teams along with state DOE and district-level stakeholders to create customized plans that promote instructional excellence and sustainable systems of support. With over 18 years of experience in education, I bring a deep background in strategic planning, public advocacy, community-based programming, and equity-centered leadership. My career has been committed to providing all students and educators with high-quality, transformative learning experiences. I began my journey in education as a Baltimore City Teaching Residency teacher and hold a B.A. in History from Morgan State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University. Throughout my career, I’ve served in various roles including classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, director of literacy, and chief academic officer. I earned my doctoral degree at Walden University, where my research focused on principal persistence and the conditions that enable school leaders to thrive.
