About Nancy Carter

I'm an evaluation strategist, consultant, instructor and coach with expertise in evaluation design and implementation across sectors. I combine my academic background in Social Psychology and Organizational Behaviour with 20+ years of practical experience to support the design and implementation of evaluation strategies in complex settings. Supporting collaboration is a cornerstone of my approach to designing comprehensive and contextually-relevant evaluation systems that integrate existing principles, strategies, practices, reporting structures and evidence needs. I work with leaders and teams across sectors to provide structure to evaluation in complex settings such as networks, collaboratives, innovation spaces, and social programs. I prioritize building capacity by fostering evaluative thinking and cultures of learning. I am a passionate instructor, coach and mentor with experience instructing academic courses at the graduate level and providing training at all levels of organizations including excutive and corporate leaders, boards, staff and volunteers. I hold the designation of Credentialed Evaluator (CE) and am an active member of the Canadian Evaluation Society presently serving on the Credentialing Board and Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation.
