About Nancy Shinault

Ms. Shinault has 31 years of experience as an early childhood professional working with Head Start programs. Since 2012, Ms Shinault has served as an Early Childhood Specialist in Region IV, Ms. Shinault provides TTA to EHS, HS, and Childcare Partners across 8 states. In addition, she is assigned as Point of Contact (POC) to eleven grantees located in two states. As the POC, she provides resources and information about upcoming events, and maintains regular ongoing communication. She has expertise with CLASS, Practice Based Coaching, and PFCE and provides TTA to support grantees across the region. As part of several teams, she develops and provides regional professional development on a variety of topics as set by the Regional Office. She works with the Head Start Regional Office managers and the program specialists to communicate and develop plans for improvement and suggestions for implementing strategies for success. She offers focused TTA to programs in the form of individual, on-site visits, cluster trainings, regional events, and virtual webinars/meetings. Ms. Shinault is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati. Prior to her TTA work, Ms. Shinault worked in a variety of roles at a HS/EHS program that served more than 300 children. She was a key member of a management team that created the program from the start-up phase, including the development of policies and procedures and working with architects to design facilities which meet the needs of young children, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and state regulations Certifications include: Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Since 2022 QCIT Trainer Certification (Quality of Care for Infants and Toddlers), Since 2022 CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) Train the Trainer, Since2012 CLASS observer, Since 2010 PITC (Certified Program for Infant and Toddler Care Trainer), Since 2004 Certified Kentucky Early Childhood Trainer, Since2007
