I am a seasoned back-end developer with a long history in technology, who has not followed a traditional path, but rather explored tech through a lifelong love for learning and solving problems. My technical journey began at 8 with a Commodore, and I have gone from crafting BASIC games to mastering Python and Java in professional environments. Throughout my career, I have led projects such as transitioning a Python web application from a Jupyter notebook to a robust FastAPI backend, which not only enhanced performance but also expanded its features. I've implemented comprehensive testing using PyTest on projects that previously had no formal tests, ensuring a seamless transition during server migrations. My expertise also extends to AWS, where I have troubleshot data ingestion processes and developed scalable systems. I thrive in environments that challenge me to learn more and do better. At Directions, I worked primarily with Python, leveraging my skills daily to improve systems and processes. I love to get in the zone and just code, particularly in Python and Java. Getting to collaborate with a talented team to solve complex problems makes me get out of bed on Monday mornings. Away from the keyboard, I enjoy time spent cooking and traveling with my family - My wife and my three boys. We are always seeking new experiences and growth opportunities.
