About Nathan Broaddus

I am a committed community builder, communicator, and connector with a strong drive to help the place I live become more equitable, safe, and just. Whether in my professional capacity in planning and organizing, my environmental advocacy, as a volunteer with over a decade of experience in youth work, or in my efforts supporting international public health programs, my work embodies my belief that the recipients of support know best the form that support should take. Participatory process, facilitation towards consensus decision-making, and flexible programming and problem solving are central to my approach, both professionally and on a volunteer basis. My strengths in program management and relationship building, operations and event coordination, in compelling writing, social media, and marketing, and my multilingualism help me connect a diverse range of people and their stories to the programming and the financial and operational support that they need. I value the gifts and skills of the members of my team and the people on whom our efforts are focused, and prioritize shared ownership of both process and product. I believe that a skill for deep listening, an open and patient mind, and a playful heart are the best tools I have to improve the fairness, resilience, and well-being of my community.
