About Nathan Daniel

About Me I have a passion for supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs this stems from my own experiences. Having been the recipient of mentoring since a young age I have experienced the benefits first hand of how effective a good mentor can be, in both my personal and professional life. This is something that has shaped me as a person and changed my narrative from a negative to positive. I am able to offer that shared life experience and give advice and guidance based on real life and not just from a text book. I have found this resonates with young people because we as adults are able to open up to them and they in turn can open up to us. I thoroughly enjoy helping the young people that I work with to be better people, become more aware of their feelings and to help manage their emotions in a positive healthy way. This I hope will allow them to make better choices and be the best versions of themselves they can be. I am self-motivated, enthusiastic and a passionate individual, with an outgoing personality. I pride myself on being a good communicator, with strong management and leadership skills, therefore am able to deal with people in a variety of situations. I thrive on being part of a team, supporting and encouraging others, as well as working on my own initiative. I enjoy working in challenging environments, where I can make a difference. I always set out to create a positive working environment, where everyone feels valued and accepted. As well as my role as a Wellbeing Officer, I am a keen fitness enthusiast. I regularly go to the Gym and am still an active boxer. I hold a WRU level 3 Rugby Coaching Qualification. I currently coach Pontypool Utd RFC, a Division one senior team that competes in the national leagues, I have been successful in gaining promotion and maintaining the clubs status for the past three years in division one, a very proud achievement considering we are a grass roots rugby team that has no financial incentives to represent the club. Unlike many of the others teams we compete against week in week out. I also take great enjoyment out of coaching Pontypool Utd under 15s whom my son plays for. I have held positions at age grade level with the Pontypool districts, the Dragons under 14s and the Dragons Regional Women’s team. As a former semi professional player for Pontypool RFC, rugby is still a huge passion and part of me, its something I continue to make great friends, memories and experiences from.
