Data Scientist | Public Health Professional | AI & Machine Learning Expert With over 20 years of experience in data science, public health, and policy, I specialize in leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and health information systems to drive data-driven decision-making. Currently, as a Data Scientist at USAID, I design and implement statistical sampling methodologies, develop data collection tools and processes, and conduct advanced data analysis to support HIV research, program monitoring, and health information systems development. Previously, as the Division Chief of Data and Policy at the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), I led technical and professional teams, managed budgets for state health data systems, and oversaw the development and evaluation of statewide health improvement initiatives. My tenure as a Health Statistician at IDPH further strengthened my expertise in managing large-scale health data systems and statistical reporting. My academic foundation includes a Doctor of Public Administration and a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois, complemented by a Master of Science in Economics and a professional degree in Statistics. Additionally, I have earned certifications in epidemiology, leadership & systems thinking, data science, applied machine learning, and generative AI from top institutions such as Cornell, Columbia, Purdue, and the University of Illinois.
