About Nelson Soken

When it comes to describing my career path, I think it’s fair to say that I’m a bit of a trailblazer. At Honeywell and Medtronic I defined new one-of-a-kind roles for myself including creating a technology liaison role in Europe and serving as Innovation Strategist and Program Manager.As an innovation strategist, consultant, and thought leader, I am passionate about helping others see things differently….whether I am teaching a Managing Innovation™ course, speaking to large groups, or sitting in a meeting, listening intently to different perspectives and positions, and guiding everyone toward commonalities that only I can see. An overview of my career includes these highlights-NH Soken Consulting: Using my business strategy, design, and innovation expertise, I assist client companies in developing their innovation and design thinking strategies and competencies through innovation program and strategy development and inspirational presentations. In addition, I consult on or serve as project manager on complex projects that require the mindset of an innovator and design thinker to gain customer insight and also manage multidisciplinary teams-Medtronic: Using my science and engineering background, coupled with excellent communication and networking skills, I created and drove a patient-centric strategy that changed the corporate mindset about how to approach and gather research data in emerging markets……a new capability that positions the company for future success-Barnes and Conti: I have delivered corporate learning programs to thousands across the US, Europe, Asia, South America, and Canada—inspiring employees to think differently and make a difference regardless of where they “sit” in an organization-Honeywell: I helped shape the corporate strategy on user interface design that ensured success in the European market.I thrive on inspiring others to achieve their goals and am at my best when I am teaching, “connecting the dots” in unique ways to drive new solutions, listening and advising customers and stakeholders, and doing research to create a strategic vision.
