About Nicola Smith

I am an Occupational Therapist at Brain Kind, a leading provider of neurorehabilitation services to people with acquired brain injuries. I have experience in Neuro Cognitive practices and rehab. First Episode Psychosis Care Co-ordination, Stroke Rehab and Managing Public Sector Contracts alongside partners and ICB in Social Isolation, Volunteering and Occupational Rehabilitation. I hold a BA in Occupational Therapy from Coventry University. I am skilled in delivering person-centred interventions, leading OT group and one-to-one sessions, creating service-level engagement-programmes, building capacity, assessing, and goal setting for service users. Besides my clinical role, I am also an unpaid freelance writer for Forbes Luxury Travel but have had some wonderful experiences. I have over 20 years of disability inclusive communications, copywriting, brand, digital and PR experience, and a BA in Arts and Marketing Management from De Montfort University. I am passionate about sharing my insights and expertise on various topics, from travel and food to neuro and mental health. I am also a board trustee at Anjali Dance Company, a pioneering performance company that empowers individuals with learning disabilities to achieve creative excellence.
