About Nicolas Polysou

Nick Polysou is a senior principal geotechnical/geological engineer with over 45 years of experience across a wide variety of terrain conditions and project types in western Canada. The main focus of Nick's projects have been transportation infrastructure (highways, municipal road networks, resource access roads, railways), utility corridors, industrial/resource industry development sites, and terrain hazard assessment & management related to land use planning and development. Nicks provides lead geotechnical project management, practice guidance, provision of specialist consulting and value engineering/analysis services for select strategic and/or challenging projects in Western Canada. Nick currently serves as the geotechnical engineering lead for the completion (Phase 4) of the Kicking Horse Canyon Project on Highway 1 near Golden and as the geotechnical engineering lead for relocation and construction of new bridges and highway alignments for segments (Cache Creek - Bear Flat, Halfway River, Farrell Creek and Lynx Creek) on Highway 29 in northeastern British Columbia. Specialties: Geologic terrain hazard assessment and mitigation related to land use planning, slope stability, rock slope engineering, aggregate resource assessment, geosynthetics, transportation project geotechnique, earthworks assessment, value engineering and analysis.
