School Psychologist Hudson School District 2016-present I have been a School Psychologist for the Hudson School District for the past 8 school years. I work at the middle school level which consists of grades 6-8. My main job role is conducting psychoeducational evaluations, which I happen to have a deep passion for. I am a key member of the special education process and collaborate with staff and teachers to develop effective IEP's or Section 504 Plans. I also attend MTSS meetings on a weekly basis to discuss behavioral and academic interventions, data collection, file reviews, and observations. Although assessment is my passion, I co-facilitate various counseling and leadership groups within the school building. Regular Job Duties / Responsibilities- Conduct initial, triennial, & diagnostic evaluations to assess a student’s cognitive abilities, academic skills, social/emotional functioning, executive functioning skills, and adaptive skills- Key team member in several school-based meetings (IEP, Progress, Manifestations, MTSS, Section 504, etc.)- Attend monthly consultation meetings with the other school psychologists working in the district- Facilitate a variety of counseling groups, with an emphasis on social skills, leadership for at-risk boys, and Adventure-Based Counseling / experiential learning- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments to determine the function and patterns of a student’s behavior in order to develop effective Behavior Intervention Plans- Collaborate with families and their outside providers to assist with appropriate diagnoses and treatment/assessing- Work closely with special education teachers in developing Individualized Education Plans for students with a variety of educational disabilities- Train a variety of school staff on academic assessments and the meaning behind standardized scores- Certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)- Strong Emphasis on Growth Mindset!
