About Noah Weiss

I am a biochemical engineer with a PhD from the University of Copenhagen. I have worked for the past 15 years developing processes for the conversion of plant biomass to sustainable fuels and chemicals, specializing in biomass recalcitrance, enzymatic hydrolysis, process scale up and yield optimization. I have focused on method development for biomass analysis and on improving enzyme process performance through the design of novel processes. I am particularly interested in developing sustainable technologies around energy and fuel production, and better designing bioprocesses which can be applied at both industrial and local scales. Appropriate technology related to energy and resource use is also of key interest to me. I am skilled at research at both the bench and pilot scale, and have experience working in one of the world's most advanced experimental pilot plants for developing renewable fuel technologies. My goal is to apply my research and design skills to roll out sustainable methods for energy production, in a way that will materially benefit people's lives and the climate. I also have experience in sustainability consulting, LCAs, and developing coursework around sustainability and renewable energy.
