About Noeleen M. Brady

I graduated from NUI Maynooth with a BA in Psychology in 2009. I then commenced my PhD in the Psychology Department in Maynooth University which I completed in October 2013. This project focussed on the effect of ageing on memory and afforded me valuable research and analytical skills. Following this, I joined the Department of Psychology at Liverpool Hope University as a Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow. I returned to Ireland and joined the Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation in University College Cork as a Clinical Research Support Officer in January 2015. This position awarded me invaluable experience in the clinical setting, working with health care staff and patients. Subsequently, I began working as a postdoctoral researcher in the School for Nursing and Midwifery in UCC on the Safe Nurse Staffing research project. This project has addressed queries on staffing in Ireland and influenced policy maker’s decisions. I was responsible for the overall management of the research project and team, along with collecting, managing and analysing large datasets and leading report writing. I am now working on a project aiming to improve mental health and wellbeing of healthcare staff by redesigning the working environment. In 2019, I was awarded a competitive grant to host an international symposium on Workforce Planning. I have established journal club and a webpage for the research project and additionally I am the research representative on two of the School’s committees, Athena SWAN and the SoNM Research Committee.
