Background
About Oleksandr Gatsa
As an experienced researcher with a background in experimental physics, optics, and acoustics, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of sectors including academia, automotive, and nuclear industries. In my current role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at HiLASE Centre of Excellence, Czech Academy of Science, I am engaged in experimental laser physics and laser-matter interaction with a focus on pulse-laser ablation in liquid, mass-spectrometry time-of-flight, and laser-induced forward transfer. My responsibilities also include the maintenance of experimental setups and facilities, ensuring that research is carried out in a safe and efficient manner. Prior to my current role, I worked as an R&D Engineer at NETA SAS where I gained experience in signal processing, acoustics, and material characterization. In this role, I was involved in the development of ASOPS and carried out research on material characterization. Before that, I completed my PhD at the Institute of Electronics and Systems (IES), where I worked on the development of ultrasonic sensors for the extension of acoustic measurements to high temperatures in experimental reactors for nuclear industry applications. This project involved the measurement of gas composition and screen-printing of piezoelectric ceramics. In addition, I have also gained experience working as an intern and on projects in the automotive industry, where I focused on the development of optoelectronic components and sensors for use in vehicles. During my time at Continental Automotive, I was involved in designing and implementing test benches to characterize optoelectronic components, as well as developing optical sensors. Overall, my diverse experience working in academia, automotive, and nuclear sectors has equipped me with a broad range of skills and expertise, allowing me to tackle complex problems and contribute to various fields of research and development.
