I have also undertaken public speaking engagements in both current and previous roles. • July 2018 – Present (4 years, 2 months): Business Development & Project Support Officer/Business Development Specialist at Cenex, Loughborough I joined Cenex following working with their consultants during my placement year at Nottingham City Council, after which I was offered part time work alongside my final year of university and then a full-time roll immediately after my studies finished in July 2018. The position acts as primary business development contact for our Energy Systems and Infrastructure team (managing, working on, and developing bids for a range of cutting-edge projects across the low-carbon industry), as well as leading on our presence trade shows and exhibitions (including our own). The project-oriented element includes project management, operations, and support. • July 2016 – September 2017 (1 year, 2 months): Transport Strategy Officer at Nottingham City Council, Nottingham I undertook a year in industry at Nottingham City Council between my second and third years of my undergraduate degree. During this time, I worked across several areas, but primarily worked in the transport strategy department on a project called Go Ultra Low Nottingham. This placement helped me to develop a number of key skills, from working with the public and informing them about the project through our numerous public engagement events, to writing reports and undertaking independent work projects. One such project was the redesign of our website and the development and management of a new promotional video for the project, starring real electric vehicles owners. I also gained valuable experience in understanding and developing best-practice policy in the electric vehicle space. In addition, I had a number of opportunities to develop my verbal communication skills through presentations internally to colleagues, as well as to the public at events and meets.
