About Oskar Mroz

I'm a software engineer with a strong foundation in design, a love for problem-solving, and a passion for building purposeful, user-focused technology. My journey began with a deep interest in art and design, which naturally evolved into a love for photography, digital editing, and eventually, programming. At 16, unable to afford formal classes, I taught myself to code using platforms like YouTube and freeCodeCamp, creating everything from Discord bots to full-stack e-commerce sites using React and pure CSS.Throughout college, I consistently excelled in programming and problem-solving modules, graduating with first-class honours. I worked as a programming tutor, helping young learners explore coding, and continued to pursue my software projects as a creative outlet. My professional experience spans internships at both Bloomberg and Amazon, where I learned how software is developed at scale—from writing sustainable, enterprise-level code to collaborating with cross-functional teams. Each experience helped shape my engineering philosophy and sharpened my ability to think both technically and strategically. One of my most meaningful projects has been building an educational platform to support the Irish language. This project later became the focus of my Master's dissertation and was pilot-tested in Irish primary schools with great results. I now lead its ongoing development part-time, managing a small team of engineers.I’m driven by curiosity, creativity, and a desire to build impactful technology that makes a difference.
