With over ten years of experience as an agricultural inspector, Patrick Barrett is a dedicated and knowledgeable professional who works at the intersection of bioeconomy, agri-digitalisation, and agricultural knowledge and innovation systems (CAP AKIS). He holds an MSc in Biological Sciences and has a strong background in science and policy. Patrick is passionate about finding and implementing sustainability pathways for food and biobased systems, both at the national and the European level. He represents Ireland in various initiatives and programmes that aim to foster innovation, collaboration, and circularity in the bioeconomy sector. He also applies his strategic thinking and communication skills to review and advise on rural development policies and programmes, as well as to support the Common Agricultural Policy. Patrick's goal is to help create a more sustainable future for natural capital, social and bio-economic development.
