I've worked in a variety of high profile and strategic policy and delivery roles in education to ensure that policy design, operations and communications translates into the real world outcomes. My unique mix of civil service experience and expertise covers policy development and implementation, construction management, procurement, financial management, project management, recruitment, legislation and bill work, independent reviews, communications & press handling and strategic Ministerial engagement and delivery. I have delivered many free school and college building projects successfully. I’m currently working on over 15 schemes costing over £200m, including a £40m+ college redevelopment scheme. I'm an excellent communicator with Ministers and a wide range of senior and influential stakeholders in Government and the construction industry. I have a proven track record of leading people through change and achieving outstanding results. Alongside my professional career, I’m a watercolour artist and Captain in the Army Cadet Force managing over 40 members of staff and 150 cadets. Previous posts include over 13 years service as a police officer, 12 years as an officer in the Army Cadet Force and 2 years as a school governor.
