About Paul Cooling

Paul is a successful and innovative manager who achieves objectives by creating collaborative opportunities; earning credibility and respect from all levels of personnel. He has spent 21 years developing strategies and delivering projects for the Borough of Poole Council leading to significant ongoing savings. During this time he facilitated partnerships with Business & Community organisations and introduced change into the authority by accessing some £1.5m of external funding for programme delivery. His recent achievements include; creating a pro-active Strategic Partnership Programme to develops the Council’s Community objectives and the strategic direction of the Councils external funding strategy to explore new and sustainable funding opportunities to improve the quality of life for the people of Poole. As a former Royal Navy Engineering Officer Paul is a strategic leader used to making-decisions and meeting deadlines by getting the best from a multi-disciplined professional team, often during periods of significant change with limited resources. He is a member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology and holds a BSc Honours degree supported by post-graduate management & consulting qualifications. Paul’s interests include painting, playing the saxophone and he is an active member of The Poole Yacht Club
