About Paul Grange
Starting with an interest in computers from an early age, I have ventured into varying topics around IT. First starting of with PC Hardware and core technologies, Visual Basic programming, IT Support, Networking technologies, Operating system and Open Source Software. I have developed my skills within IT with several colleges courses and work experices including a foundation degree in ICT and have since completed a one year top-up Degree BSc Applied computing at Northumbria University School of computing, Engineering & Information Science. BSc Applied computing had a focus on professional development, networking technologies, Databases, Operating systems, Information systems, internet technologies, and training and development. These studies also made use of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Certified wireless Network Associate CWNA material and an individual project titled‘ Building A Network Comparable To A Proprietary System using Open Source Software’. Further studies completed include, CompTIA A+, HP IT Essentials, Diploma for IT Practitioners (ICT systems support) and completed Health, Safety & Environment (HS & E) test for operatives. During this development I have also had outside interests leading to a yearlong round the world adventure, and very diverse employments including goods vehicle driving, farming, sewing / leather work, handyman, retail, and IT support technician. In these employments I have developed skills including: communication, team work, basic mechanics, social skills, exercising imitative, personal responsibility and faster apprehension of tasks to be undertaken. My goal is to work in ICT support, encouraging the use of ICT and helping user achieve their best with it. In the short term I aim to complete the CCNA and CWNA exams and to further my understanding of Open source.
